Original research or review probably better than a case report. Case reports are getting super hard to publish in oncology. I would even argue a research poster is helpful.This is probably the most difficult aspect of oncology, and why many seek to further specialize within oncology. I spent an hour (scheduled for 15 minutes) with one of them that I put on hospice. 3 others were scheduled for 15 minutes and I spent at least 30 with them. I got 15 minutes to eat lunch.New drugs not as exciting as in oncology. Onc: less hands on/more cerebral. Much more meaningful relationships with your patients, most of which will be seeing you for the biggest/most difficult event of their lives. Depending on what area of Onc may have a lot of sad cases.
