From what I understand the crank and rods are the same specs. The bore and stroke of a 5.3 is 3.780 x 3.622. Rods are 6.098 in length. The iron block can be bored to an LS1 bore of 3.900. The aluminum block has sleeves and can be bored .010. So you can use your crank and rods and a set of LS1 pistons.706 and 862's are small bore (4.8/5.3) gen 3 heads.
